UbD and
Technology, do they go hand in hand?
Understanding
by Design helps teachers to clarify their student learning goals, creating and
developing assessments for deep student understanding and creating effective
and engaging learning activities-providing students with complex and authentic
opportunities.
Technology integration is more than just embedding technology
into a project. It’s planning an
authentic assessment task that utilizes technology in a meaningful way/developing
a solid unit of study. Technology is a
fun new way of teaching and learning that really keep students engaged.
Yes, UbD and Technology do go hand in hand. The process of learning how to plan a unit
and using new tools IS the way to go in moving forward and continually growing
and advancing in today’s world.
Lastly, I would like to add that the IT classes/courses
tremendously will help pave my activities (as far as PD plans) embedding them
in my work plan for next school, 2013-2014 School Year.
